Welcome to our amazing project! The narrative unit completed in our Creative Writing Class at West Legacy culminated in the Animoto projects available below. The students began the unit by reading and analyzing works of narrative non-fiction. They then explored their voices as writers using prompts intended to help them access their own stories and experiences. Once they each had a polished, edited script complete, the students used a variety of technological tools such as Animoto, Audacity, digital photography and the Internet to create a finished narrative submission. The completion of many steps was required to bring the students’ visions to fruition. It was a pleasure to watch as the students put their hearts into each aspect of the creation of this project. Despite the expected but always heartbreaking setbacks of lost mp3s, lost pictures, time constraints, and various other issues, most of the students enjoyed both the process and the outcome of this endeavor. It is a beautiful thing to watch the light spark in students’ eyes as they discover the joy of learning.
So sit back and enjoy the show!
